Bahrain and Israel have discussed establishing an executive program to develop cooperation in scientific research, technology, trade, and the jewelry sector. This comes as Bahrain’s Ambassador to Israel Khalid bin Yousif Al Jalahma visited the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) where he was briefed on the local, regional and international services offered by the institute, including research studies, training programs, and activities on pearls and gemstones.
The Ambassador and DANAT’s Chief Executive Officer Noora Jamsheer discussed the active role of the Institute in achieving the Kingdom’s vision to revive the pearl industry and promote the pearling trade within Bahrain and beyond.
The planned executive program aims to enable Israel to benefit from DANAT’s leading expertise in the field and allow DANAT to utilise Israel’s advanced diamond technology. The two parties stressed the vital role pearls, diamonds, and gemstones play in economic and bilateral trade relations, and highlighted the importance of cooperation and the role they can play in developing the sector’s strengths, as jewels, particularly diamonds, are deeply rooted in Israel’s economy.
