Bahrain Oil Minister inaugurates EMET 2022 Conference

Climate Affairs Special Envoy (SCE), Environment, and Oil Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina inaugurated the Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference (EMET 2022).
The event hosted more than 400 experts specializing in oil and petrochemical sector, technicians, engineers, and ethylene specialists, and was held under the theme (Developing the ethylene industry through efficient processes and technologies).
The conference discussed operational efficiency, sustainability, exchanging expertise, modern technologies, and ways to formulate the future of the ethylene industry.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (ALChE) organized the event, in cooperation with the ministry and with the support of regional and international oil companies.
The minister stressed Bahrain's keenness to provide the utmost support to these specialized events that benefit the economic, knowledge, development system, exchanging information, experiences and expertise, and participating in capacity-building and skills.
He stressed that the conference is one of the important events to highlight the best practices in improving operations, digitization, reliability, and capital efficiency, noting that the ethylene industry is in continuous development.
Dr. Bin Daina highlighted the industry’s efforts to eliminate decarbonization, plastic waste, and other environmental issues.
The minister said that the petrochemical sector’s sustainability plan is to achieve a global competitive advantage by attracting human skills that contribute to reducing costs.
