HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work honours 18 winners

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work yesterday honoured 18 prominent Arab personalities for their outstanding contributions in battling the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Now in its 12th edition, the award had received a total of 69 nominations for the Best Institutional Voluntary Performance Award. The ceremony was in the presence of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Cabinet Affairs Ministry Under-Secretary and Good Word Society honorary president Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

Kuwait Prime Minister’s Court Advisor Dr Basel Humood Al Sabah, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Dr Nivine Nivine El Kabbag, Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohamed Ali Humaidan, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed, Social Development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Al Asfoor and other officials were present at the ceremony.

The Abdulrahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation was awarded the His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Leadership in Community Work. A group of Bahraini NGOs and three volunteer projects won the award for best institutional voluntary performance.

The “Rayaat Scholarship Programme” of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Association won first place, the “Recovery from Drugs” project of the Recovery Association won second place, and the “Prince Sultan Centre for Hearing and Speech Development” project by the Bahrain Society for Child Development won third place.

The ceremony also witnessed honouring the award sponsors, including the GFH Financial Group, stc Bahrain, and the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), as well as media sponsors of the award, including the Al-Bilad and Al-Ayyam newspapers.
