A new national skills agency is on the way to synergizing skill development initiatives in Bahrain. The project is from Labour Fund (Tamkeen) as part of the Vision 2030 project that aims at developing a five-year strategy and an operating model.

The project is already on its way, with Tamkeen launching a tender seeking a “consultancy” for establishing the skills agency. In a similar move, Tamkeen had earlier announced that works are underway to launch the Skills Bahrain” Initiative for creating professional standards for vocations and professions and meet the rising demand for qualified nationals across different sectors. The current tender also calls for the winning bidder to work on developing the capacity of the local team in Tamkeen.

This move would help them “move from a division or business unit to a fully functional and sustainable independent body after the incubation period.” Interested companies could bid through the website of the Tender board. Bids should reach the board before the 12th of October 2022, with a BD5,000 bond and BD100 tender fees.
