7-year jail for misusing SIM cards for terror acts
The High Criminal Court has handed down a 29-year-old Bahraini man seven years’ jail for misusing 45 SIM cards for terror acts and to trigger explosives that would be eventually used by terrorists.
Two other men, aged 29 and 28, are also implicated in the case, but were given only three years in prison for abetting the crime. The latter duo was reportedly requested by their first co-defendant to obtain 30 SIM cards from a shop in Manama. He later requested another 15 chips from them, and the duo fully met his request. According to court files, one of the SIM cards was used to detonate a bomb in the Hamala area.
