Strange objects used in witchcraft washed Bahrain ashore
Dozens of strange objects that are believed to be used as tools in practising black magic have been washed ashore near Budaiya town in the Northern Governorate.
Different sizes and shapes of folded papers, carrying strange writings and women’s names on them, were found by residents of the town at the Budaiya Fishermen Port, in the northwestern coasts of the island, on Friday.
The men collected the objects that are believed to be tools used by sorcerers and destroyed them all at once, after they’ve informed the area’s representative MP Hamad Al Dossary.
“Residents are surprised and furious towards the repetition of such acts in our quiet town. This is the largest quantity found here so far,” Al Dossary said.
The MP requested the Interior Ministry, headed by Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, to intensify patrol at ports and provide them with sufficient guards to curb these occurrences, especially in Budaiya.
“We also demand the Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs at the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry to coordinate with the Interior Ministry, by providing ports across Bahrain with the necessary facilities to accommodate guards and security personnel,” he said.
Al Dossary also called for creating awareness among fishermen and seafarers on how to combat sorcery and black magic practices.
“The responsibility of protecting coasts and ports falls under the obligations of both the Interior Ministry and the Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs. They should prevent those who are practising these hideous and evil practices, which are against the human principles and values,” the MP said.
Pointing to the need of certain legislations to eliminate sorcery and black magic practices from the society, Al Dossary confirmed that talks were on among MPs to propose laws that criminalise witchcraft practices, adding that “intellectuals and religious scholars have a big role in combating such alien practices to Bahrain’s society”.
These practices are nothing new to Budaiya residents, as they often discovered such voodoos and tools of witchcraft in the sea near their town.
As reported earlier by DT News, two women were caught in one week during August, while they were throwing materials and tools used in black magic.
The women were caughtby locals and fishermen while throwing strange combinations in the sea. They used clothes to wrap eggs, coins, papers, plants, pieces of paper with strange writings on them and other weird objects, before they threw them in the waters, by sunset and dawn.
When confronted separately, both women admitted that the objects were used in sorcery as they were apparently “seeking assistance from the other world”.
Al Dossary had then told DT News: “We have repeatedly called for installing lights and assigning watchmen to guard the port. These practices keep on recurring here and it needs to be stopped.”
