Sharifa Al Awadhi Club opens its doors to children and youth
The Labour and Social Ministry officially opened the doors of Sharifa Al Awadhi Children and Youth Club yesterday in Riffa to families on their complete variety of facilities and programmes to offer for children.
Sharifa Alawadhi Youth and Children Club is the latest and largest of its kind in the Kingdom as it cements its position among the prominent youth clubs spread across Bahrain.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Labour and Social Development Jameel Humaidan, the club opened its door to what was a courteously guided tour in the presence of other officials. The comprehensive tour around the club showcased its many various facilities and programmes.
During the tour, many kids donning sportswear excitedly engrossed in activities they looked forward to, while parents watched their kids get in their comfort zone with no resistance. Chief of Nurseries and Childhood Development Amal Al Muflasa said that the club began its operations as back as December 2012. However, it was only officially opened to the public now. According to Muflasa, 90 per cent of the programmes and facilities are now ready, and she expects all their facilities to open by 2016. The first floor of the spacious club contains various halls, a swimming pool and a cafeteria. The second floor contains more than seven units – including culture and fine arts unit, puppet theatre unit, popular mental gaming unit, studio, computer lab, future girls unit which includes private rooms for ballet, fashion design and jewellery design, and hospitality and tradition preservation programme.
In addition to this, the Nurseries Chief also confirmed that seven 3D printers have been incorporated for 3D design programmes. The Club now boasts a total registration of over 2000 children and youth members ranging from ages 7 to 18.
