Delegation in Bangladesh to promote Bahrain Global Reciter’s Contest
A delegation from the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has visited Bangladesh to promote the Bahrain Global Reciter’s Contest organised in Bahrain under the Royal auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The delegation was chaired by the Director of Holy Quran Directorate and Head of Bahrain’s Global Reciter’s Contest, Shaikh Abdullah Qahtan Al Omari,
The Bahraini delegation paid a visit to the Islamic institution affiliated to the Bangladeshi Ministry of Religious Affairs and met the institution’s general director, Shaikh Shamim Mohammed Afzal, affirming the significance of Bangladeshi reciters’ participation in the contest.
The delegation paid a visit to the International School for Holy Quran Memorisation in the capital Dhaka and met the school’s director who briefed them about the school’s experience in teaching the Holy Quran. There are more than 1000 students and teachers of the Holy Quran in the school. The delegation briefed the school’s teachers and students about Bahrain’s Online Global Reciter’s Contest and mechanism for participation in it, affirming the role of educational institutions in teaching Quranic studies to the younger generations noting the importance of such institutions.
The delegation also paid a similar visit to the Quran & Sunnah Sciences School, which has numerous branches all over the country having about 5,000 students. The delegation met the school’s director, Najem Al Hassan, and administrative and teaching staff members. The delegation was briefed about the school’s teaching and learning methodology and mechanism of graduation of proficient memorisers. Al Omari briefed them about the concept of Bahrain’s biennial Online Quran Recitation Contest (Global Reciter) and mechanism to participate in the contest.
