A new riding season begins!

The first ride of the Honda Gold Wing Club ride season kicked off last Friday. Over 35 members took part in the ride, from Zayed Town to Lanterns Restaurant at Riffa.

Marking the 40th anniversary of Honda Gold Wing, customers who bought the bike this year were given anniversary badges.

“We started this club two years back, when we had only 20 members. But now we have 58, and we are still counting.

Every year, our season starts from November and ends in March. We try to conduct this ride first week of every month,” Hamadan, the organizer of the ride told DT News.

Before the start of the ride at Zayed Town, all new riders were formally inducted and briefed about the safety features and precautions to be remembered.

The Gold Wing Club is a unique club as it focuses only on a single brand.

It will organise a blood donation camp in the beginning of the next year, as part of social responsibility.

The members of the club are benefited by numerous services like discounts on periodical services and spare parts of the bike.

Anyone who owns a Gold Wing can join this group. The club has already marked its presence in other parts of region such as, in Kuwait bike week, Jordan bike week etc.

Chairman of Motor City, Waleed Ebrahim Kanoo, also participated in the get together of the club members at Lantern restaurant Riffa. Speaking to DT News, he said, “I, as a biker, have always encouraged this team. I personally admire the bike’s performance and consider it as one of the best tourer in the world. We can easily cover 500km or more on this bike without feeling tired.”

“This group is growing and has already marked its ineluctable presence in the Kingdom. I would also like to share that; there should be strict regulations and ordinances in the registration of the motor clubs. What I notice is that, some of the clubs do not have proper authentication from the government. This is very dangerous,” he added.
