Primary Healthcare Centres and RCSI-Bahrain join hands for training, research

The Healthcare sector in the Kingdom received a major boost yesterday, with the Primary Healthcare Centres and the Royal College of Surgeons in the Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain signing a cooperation agreement to support healthcare services. The deal calls for the Primary Healthcare Centres to open their facilities to medical faculty professors for education, training and scientific research. RCSI-Bahrain will provide support services, including laboratories, libraries and diagnostic and therapeutic services for primary healthcare centres. Health Minister Dr Jaleela bint Al-Sayyid Jawad Hasan stressed efforts to consolidate public health services and build more partnerships with educational institutions.
Primary Healthcare Centres Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr Lulwa Rashid Showeiter said the agreement would bolster cooperation with RCSI-Bahrain, a pioneering academic institution in the Arabian Gulf Region. She praised RCSI-Bahrain’s efforts to support the staff working in the primary healthcare sector, stressing her commitment to enhancing the standard of services. RCSI-Bahrain President Professor Sameer Otoom stressed strong partnership with the primary healthcare centres to achieve common goals, support services and keep abreast of future medical studies and clinical research.
