A vow for smooth and fair elections in Bahrain

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has instructed ministries and government agencies to immediately implement His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to ensure that the coming elections are carried out smoothly and fairly with strong transparency for voters.

HRH Prince Salman was speaking as he attended yesterday’s weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by HM the King. His Majesty highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in strengthening the state of law and institutions, and enhancing civic participation in the decision-making process.

He directed ministries and government departments to fulfil all key requirements to facilitate the parliamentary elections. HM King Hamad expressed thanks and appreciation to members of the Shura and Representatives Councils in the five previous legislative terms for their commitment to upholding national responsibility.

This had contributed, through cooperation and joint national action between the executive and legislative branches, to yielding significant successes for the nation and the citizens, HM the King noted.

On behalf of the government, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King to appreciate the role His Majesty plays in driving the Kingdom’s comprehensive development process. HRH affirmed the importance of working as one team to realise HM Kings aspirations for the nation and citizens.
