There is a need to promote the role of the media in serving the nation and raising public awareness by providing media materials characterised by credibility and professionalism.

This was emphasised by Information Minister Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Alnoaimi during a meeting with the ministry’s affiliates who are participating in the “Outside the Box” creativity initiative.

Dr Alnoaimi affirmed that developing the visual content on all platforms of the ministry constitutes a priority to provide a media service that is consistent with the international fast-paced developments in this field.

He commended the directives and unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the media field, describing it as a strong incentive for more creativity and innovation.

The Minister expressed most sincere thanks and appreciation to the participants in the initiative for their visions and ideas, stressing keenness of the ministry to support all its creative employees and competencies.

Dr Alnoaimi pointed out that the initiative, since its announcement last September until the submission deadline, has received 192 ideas submitted by 92 employees in various media fields.

He noted that those ideas will be studied and evaluated in order to carry them out gradually in the future.

A committee will be formed for the evaluation and will comprise in its membership an elite of national experts from the media field.

He also noted that the ministry is currently working on the creation of “the media creative ideas bank”, in line with its goals set within the “creators lab”, to form a national creativity stockpile of visual ideas.
