IPU commends Bahrain's commitment to gender parity

The Inter-Parliamentary Union yesterday commended the commitment of Bahrain's Shura and Representative Council to submitting periodic reports and ensuring gender balance in both houses.
IPU officials hailed Bahrain's Shura and Representative Council as examples to emulate for observing gender balance.
The statements came during the 145th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Kigali, Rwanda, where Anda Flip, Advisor to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, talked about responsive parliaments with the Union's programmes.
All IPU statutory bodies, including the Governing Council, Standing Committees, Committees on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians and on Middle East Questions, as well as the Forum of Women Parliamentarians and the Forum of Young MPs, were present during this Assembly.
The 145th IPU Assembly in Kigali, Rwanda has adopted a resolution on Ukraine entitled Condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine and of the subsequent annexation of territories, in defence of the territorial integrity of all States.
