With the opening of the annual Discover America shopping festival week, around 3,800 US products went on display at Lulu Hypermarkets across Bahrain.

The annual shopping festival inauguared by US Ambassador to Bahrain Steven C. Bondy at a ceremony attended by LuLu Group Director Juzer Rupawala and senior management.

The Discover America Week festival runs until October 22.

Underscoring the American community’s bond with Bahrain, there will be information kiosks for prominent American organizations such as AmCham, American Women’s Association and American Mission Hospital, a statement said.

To create the right buzz and highlight American automobile technology, Lulu has set aside a space for a display of the iconic US made Harley Davidson motorcycle and the Red Indian motorbike, it added.

"Since the inception of this annual trade promotion event, the US Embassy has proudly partnered with Lulu to support the sale and distribution of American food and agricultural products in Bahrain," Bondy said.

"Lulu’s continued use of the US Bahrain Free Trade Agreement expands access to high quality US made goods and strengthens commercial ties between Bahrain and the United States."

Rupawala said that the partnership with the U.S. embassy in Bahrain and the Discover America Week is a big success.
