Bahrain Cabinet reviews royal directives to implement labour market reforms

The Cabinet yesterday reviewed the implementation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives on the new set of labour market reforms that will replace the Flexi Permits.

It approved a draft decision to be issued by the Minister of Interior that includes several organisational measures to implement the royal directives.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace.

Saudi role

The Cabinet affirmed the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the support of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in promoting global economic stability, as well as its role as a fundamental pillar of regional and international security and stability.

It also noted Saudi Arabia’s role as a global political and economic leader.

In this regard, the Cabinet commended the speech delivered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at the inauguration of the third year of the eighth session of the Saudi Shura Council.

The speech outlined plans for the future development of Saudi Arabia and its efforts to maintain global economic stability and consolidate its leading role as a mediator of peace.

Memorandum

The Cabinet approved a memorandum by the Minister of Transport and Telecommunication regarding the approval of the Kingdom of Bahrain to assume the presidency of the Council of the Digital Cooperation Organization in its next session for a one-year term.

A memorandum by the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs regarding the acquisition of real estate for public use to provide necessary space for urban development was also approved.
