Bahrain signs MoU for Monaco Yacht Club to develop harbours and yachts

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, met with His Highness Prince Albert II, Prince of Monaco, at the Yacht Club in Monaco, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Excellency Mr. Bernard d'Alessandri, General Secretary of Yacht Club de Monaco, and His Excellency Mr. Hisham Al Saei.

His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and HM the King’s wishes for the Principality of Monaco for continued progress and prosperity to His Highness Prince Albert II.

During the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser discussed with the Prince of Monaco the means of cooperation and coordination in a number of fields, especially in the field of developing and regulating ports and harbours, in a way that serves marine traffic and contributes to its development, as well as enhancing efforts to implement projects that positively reflect on the creation of a digital window for yachts in support of the tourism movement in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Principality of Monaco aimed at attracting the Monaco Yacht Club in the field of developing and regulating harbours and yachts.

His Highness welcomed the signing of the memorandum, which will have a major role in making the Kingdom of Bahrain a hub for harbours and yachts, given the extensive experience that the Monaco Yacht Club possesses in this field, pointing out that the Kingdom has great potential in the field of developing harbours and yachts, which serves the implementation of quality projects in the field of tourism and contributing to efforts to achieve the objectives of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 to diversify sources of income and invest in tourism components, thus creating quality job opportunities for Bahrainis.
