Indian Ambassador holds Open House; calls on to follow new LMRA guidelines

Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava urged Indian Community members yesterday to follow the new work permit guidelines released by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, replacing the flexi visa scheme five years after its introduction.
The Ambassador was holding an Open house on Thursday in the presence of the embassy’s consular team and panel of lawyers and about 50 Indian nationals. Piyush Srivastava briefed about various features of the scheme introduced to protect the rights of employees and employers.
Srivastava also warned about the alert issued by the local authorities on the consequences of working illegally or on a visit visa. Ambassador thanked local government authorities, including LMRA and Salmaniya hospital and community organisations, for resolving various cases, including those of Naga Raju Marampudi and Selvanayaki.
The Ambassador thanked Indian community organisations, particularly ICRF, Bharathi Association, World NRI Council, BKS, TKS and KMCC and urged all to reach out in case of any problem on 24*7 basis at 39418071 and cons.bahrain@mea.gov.in.
