Polling and counting sub-committees ready, says Justice Minister

As canvassing for the election reached a fever pitch, authorities too here are making last-minute preparations.

The latest news is that the Polling and Counting committees are all set and ready for the d-day.

Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, Elections High Supervisory Committee Chairman, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, yesterday issued Edicts setting up polling and counting committees for House of Representatives and Municipal council elections.

As per resolutions No (135) and (136), the committees are responsible for conducting the polling and counting process under Decree-Law no (14) and (3) of 2022 regarding the exercise of political rights.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Supervising Committee in each electoral district will announce the result in all the electoral districts in his area and the votes received by candidates.

A copy of the election result, along with all the electoral records and papers, will be sent to the Elections High Supervisory Committee The final announcement of the general results of the election will be through the Higher Committee for General Supervision.
