New Millennium School, Bahrain hosts 8th Interschool Model United Nations Conference

The New Millennium School, Bahrain organised its 8th Interschool Model United Nations Conference on 28 and 29 October. The Chief Guest of the opening ceremony was His Excellency Piyush Srivastava, the Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Guest of Honor was Mr Ganesh Pillai, Director of Knowledge Management Group.

This year’s NMMUN was the first in person MUN after the Covid period and witnessed the largest ever participation of over 350 students from various schools in Bahrain including St. Christopher School, British School of Bahrain, Asian School of Bahrain, Bahrain Indian School, Al Noor International School and the New Indian school.

While addressing the delegates, the Indian Ambassador lauded the efforts of school in organising the inter-school event and offered valuable tips to the delegates, representing different countries.

The two days event witnessed engaging and fruitful debates and discussions resulting into many resolutions from various councils such as the United Nations Security Council, International Court of Justice, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, League of Nations, United Nations Women, World Health Organization, International Monetary Fund, Disarmament and International Security, Joint Crisis Committee, International Federation of Association Football, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and Lok Sabha.

A variety of important resolutions were passed by the Councils.

The NMMUN director, Ms Meenakshi Mathur and the Secretary General, Yakov Thomas thanked Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and management for providing all the necessary support and encouragement.

Thr Chairman, Dr Ravi Pillai, Managing Director, Ms Geeta Pillai, and Principal, Mr Arun Kuumar Sharma, congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the NMMUN organising committee for continuing the legacy with great success.
