Countdown begins for the high-octane action at BIC
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) begins today the 10-day countdown towards the year’s most highly anticipated endurance racing weekend with the The FIA WEC Six Hours of Bahrain taking place on November 20 and 21 in Sakhir, which is the eighth and final round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
All are invited to attend and enjoy the racing as the WEC’s only stop in the Middle East, giving the Kingdom’s motor racing fans a unique taste of Le Mans racing.
Meanwhile, all those with tickets to the mega racing event are invited to attend the Six Hours of Bahrain Welcome Party, scheduled to take place on Thursday at Coral Bay in Manama.
The event will feature one of the Middle East’s most popular DJs, Beirut-based entertainer DJ maDJam, as BIC celebrates with race fans ahead of the fast approaching FIA WEC Six Hours of Bahrain weekend.
Doors open to the public at 9pm and tickets can be purchased at the gate at BD10 apiece.
The Six Hours of Bahrain also offers the spectacle of day-to-night racing, with the main event flagging off in the daylight at 3pm and ending under floodlights at 9pm.
Race goers will be able to watch all the high-octane action from the Main Grandstand and also enjoy an Open Paddock experience throughout the entire weekend. Watching the event from the Main Grandstand offers spectators a view over the start and finish line, the main pit lane and the
main straight. Meanwhile, the Open Paddock will give fans a chance to experience what goes on behind-the-scenes in the WEC paddock, where they will likely gest a chance to meet one or more of the championship’s star drivers, including Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley, Sebastien Buemi, Alexander Wurz, Kazuki Nakajima and Anthony Davidson, to name a few.
Aside from the FIA WEC, there will be much more on-track action with plenty of racing from the GP2 Series, GP3 Series, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East and the MRF Challenge.
Tickets for the Six Hours of Bahrain can be purchased at the BIC stand in Bahrain City Centre, online at www. bahraingp.com or by telephone by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.
