Bahrain police stresses importance of installing surveillance cameras to fight crimes and prevent accidents

Lt. Colonel Mohammad Khaled Al Buainain, Head of the Hoora Police Station at the Capital Governorate Police Directorate, in an interview with Al Amn magazine, stressed the importance and benefits of installing surveillance cameras in homes, shops and streets.
Surveillance cameras have become a necessity and would contribute to uncovering any incident, he added. Studies have proven that the installation of security systems has greatly contributed to the decrease in crime, as cameras can act as a deterrent for violators and law breakers.
Combating crimes
Surveillance cameras have prevented the occurrence of any crime or violation, as they have been widely used at homes and shops and roads to facilitate the monitor the traffic and the violators. On the other hand, the cameras film anyone who has committed a crime or violated the law, such as entering the house and stealing its contents or assaulting a person, so filming the video would be an evidence.
The reason for installing these systems inside homes or facilities is to prevent and limit the occurrence of crimes and violations. Moreover, the cameras can be used to monitor domestic labour.

Ministry of Interior, through its relevant directorates, has provided all means of support and guidance to the public, and highlighted the standards and requirements for installing cameras at homes and shops.
Also, licensed companies and shops licensed to sell these systems are available and easily accessible at affordable prices. It has become important for citizens and residents to install these security systems in order to protect houses and buildings from thefts, accidents or attacks of all kinds.
The cameras must be installed in place that can clearly show the face of people. It should be installed in entrances, doors and fences of houses in addition to restrooms as well as swimming pools, taking into account privacy in the sites.
