Breast Cancer Awareness Session for female employees held successfully

Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a self-regulated multi-asset marketplace, and its fully owned subsidiary Bahrain Clear recently organised an awareness session for Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear employees to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness held during the month of October.

The session was conducted by Dr Ghufran Ahmed Jassim, Consultant, Family Physician from Health Matters, a public campaign initiative to promote health and wellbeing.

During the event, a session was presented to educate female employees on the adoption of health-supportive practices, and covered information on women’s health at various stages of life, in addition to educational tips to raise awareness of breast cancer and means of its prevention.

The session discussed causes of the disease, its symptoms, the various treatment methods as well as some actionable preventative measures that attendees can take as precaution measures.

The session also highlighted the importance of regular breast cancer screening and check-ups for early detection.

Commenting on this initiative, Hamad Abulfateh, Director of Administration Affairs & HR stated: “We aim to ensure quality health for all our employees as well as ensure the wellbeing of our community members in general through spreading awareness on the importance of regular screening and early detection.

“This comes as part of our focus on nurturing our workforce, with emphasis on social aspects and SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Well-being.

We have also aimed specifically through this initiative to enhance the health and wellness of women, through maximising both physical and mental health awareness and to ensure that our women team members enjoy healthy lives all along and are enabled to resiliently face and  overcome any challenges.
