Bahrain is looking forward to creating more promising job opportunities by enhancing cooperation with the private sector, said Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy.

“For this, we are carrying out major development projects, developing promising sectors, and ensuring financial sustainability and economic stability,” the minister stressed, adding that ten new projects would start next year. The minister also pointed out that the success in implementing the economic recovery plan in partnership with the private sector “stands as a testament to this approach.”

The public and private sector partnership, Shaikh Salman said, is acting as a “catalyst of economic growth.” The minister said this as he was addressing an event to strengthen the relationship of the government with the private sector at the Four Seasons Hotel in the presence of ministers and more than 200 senior officials from the public and private sectors.

The event was under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The minister pointed out that activating partnership with the private sector is a constant priority while implementing projects and initiatives.

“Employment prospects and wages for employees both improved after the pandemic,” the minister pointed out. The Deputy Prime Minister praised the event as an embodiment of cooperation between the public, which, he said, “is dealing a positive impact on citizens’ life.”

The function included discussion sessions in which ministers, senior officials and representatives from the private sector took part. Jameel Humaidan, the ministry of labour, said that private sector establishments dominated the majority of the recruitment process in the Kingdom.

Accordingly, 8,879 received training, with around 70% of the jobs in the private sector being Bahrainised. The minister also pointed out that his priority is to train 10,000 Bahrainis annually through 2024.
