Bahrain-Vatican ties a distinguished model of cooperation, says HM King

The synergy in visions based on humanitarian principles and values have turned ties between Bahrain and Vatican into a distinguished model of cooperation, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HM said the ties would serve humanity by promoting peaceful coexistence by shunning extremism and fostering dialogue as the only means for peace, prosperity and sustainable development. HM King said this during a visit to His Holiness Pope Francis at his residence.

HM’s Personal Representative, His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Personal Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa were present.

Terming the Holy Mass, held yesterday at the National Stadium, attended by tens of thousands from Bahrain and abroad, as a “great success”, HM King said the speech by Pope emphasised the principles of peace, religious freedom and rapprochement between peoples.

Pope Francis thanked HM King for the gracious welcome and hospitality and invitation to visit Bahrain.

Pope also lauded the vital role of Bahrain in consolidating the culture of dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, wishing Bahrain further growth and prosperity.
