Bahrain Cabinet hails HM King on successful Pope visit

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the successful historic official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Cabinet highlighted HM the King’s address during the reception of His Holiness, who came at His Majesty’s invitation, affirming Bahrain’s history as a land of peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions and a home to people of many faiths.

It commended the historic visit of Pope Francis and His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb, Sheikh of Al Azhar Al Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, to the Kingdom at the invitation of HM the King, and lauded their constructive meetings.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

Speeches given by the distinguished guests, which reflected their commitment to upholding the values of peace and coexistence, were also hailed by the Cabinet.

It praised the outcomes of the first session of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence, which was held under the patronage of His Majesty the King.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the King Hamad Global Award for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence, which was launched during the Forum, reflecting the Kingdom’s efforts in fostering peaceful dialogue between different cultures and religions.

The Cabinet commended the speech delivered by HM the King at the conclusion of the Forum, which emphasised its important constructive outcomes as evidence of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and religious harmony.
