Bahrain-EU ties strong, expanding: HRH Prince Salman

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday hailed the strength of ties between Bahrain and European Union countries, stressing the need for doubling international efforts to consolidate cooperation and peace to serve common interests.
HRH Prince Salman said this during talks with Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, at Gudaibiya Palace. HRH also called for strengthening the framework of cooperation, peace and partnership in the common interests of all.
Following the meeting, Von der Leyen, in a Tweet, said, “Glad to be in Bahrain and to meet Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Good exchange on geopolitical challenges and broadening cooperation between the EU and the Gulf region.
From seizing the opportunities of the clean energy transition to increasing trade.” Tom Beckett, Executive Director of IISS–Middle East, has earlier said that Ursula von der Leyen will address the Dialogue that begins today at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Bahrain.
