The Public Prosecution has opened an investigation into the arrest of an 11-member gang involved in growing marijuana plants and storing narcotic drugs for sale inside Bahrain.
Officials said the suspects include nationals from Europe, Asia and other continents.
The arrests followed an investigation into a tip-off received at the Drug Crimes Unit at the Public Prosecution Office.
An investigation resulted in the arrest and seizure of cocaine, hashish and tools used for growing marijuana plants. Crime scene experts analysed the drugs seized and the residence of the suspects.
Cops said that the suspects confessed to committing the crimes during interrogation and were remanded into custody pending further investigation. Public Prosecution is preparing to refer the case for a criminal trial.
