3 Arab robbers sentence to jail

Manama

Three Arab nationals sentenced to one year behind bars for robbery had their appeals rejected. While two of them are in police custody, the third accused is still at large and was convicted in absentia.

It's claimed the trio arrived to Bahrain in search of job, but ended in larceny. They managed to rob a couple of properties, including a Sar villa, from where their fingermarks were detected.

"I was working in a company in my country when my friend (the fugitive) called me. He invited me to go with him to Bahrain saying there are many employment opportunities," the first accused told the Public Prosecution.

He said, somehow they later on got into robbing houses.

The High Criminal Court held them guilty of robbery and gave them one year each in prison followed by deportation. And this was supported by the High Criminal Appeals Court.
