Close to 80 companies, including 67 exhibitors, from India, are participating in Jewellery Arabia 2022, whose pavilions the Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava yesterday said were “simply outstanding” following a visit.
The Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch event has 137 booths occupied by exhibitors from all over India, led by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council.
In the 2021 edition, GJEPC’s Indian Pavilion had 55 participating exhibitors spread over 821 square meters of area in 90 booths.
“Indian pavilion at Jewellery Arabia 2022 is simply outstanding. It’s exquisite craftsmanship and a wide range of fine jewellery collections.
A must-visit for everyone!” the envoy tweeted after visiting the Indian pavilion.
"Spread in 1236 sqm in Hall 3, 5 & 6, India Pavilion is a must-visit and displays exquisite craftsmanship & jewellery collections comprising of high-end diamond jewellery, gold & platinum jewellery, fine jewellery, designer handmade, high-end diamond & bridal jewellery pieces," tweeted @IndianInBahrain. Ravi Kumar Jain, Second Secretary (Com & Edu), accompanied Srivastava during the tour.
In another tweet, Srivastava wrote, “The decision to pursue the resumption of India-GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is an important positive development.
FTA will significantly expand and diversify India’s trade with its largest trading bloc GCC, including Bahrain.”
The Daily Tribune had reported the resumption of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), announced during a joint press conference held in New Delhi by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Dr Nayef Falah M Al Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
