ISB student enters India Book of Records for extra-curricular activities

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) student Rudra Rupesh Aiyer has entered the India Book of Records for achieving certificates and medals in extra-curricular activities at the age of 14 years and 9 months, as confirmed on September 19.
She achieved 140 certificates, 68 trophies and 17 medals for participating in numerous competitions including English poem recitation, English speech, Mono-act and Carnatic music.
Rudra has also proved her excellence in Hindustani music, Hindi poem recitation and shloka chanting (Bhagavad Gita and other shlokas and mantras).
She is a student of Class 9. She has won the House Star award for Vikram Sarabhai House with 43 points and 3 A grades in the ISB Tarang finale 2022.
Rudra won first prize in Hindustani Music, second prize in Hindi Poem recitation and third prize in Carnatic Music, Mono act, and English Poem recitation.
Rudra is the daughter of Rupesh Sundhar Venkitachalam (Financial Controller) and Radhika Rupesh Sundar who hail from Palakkad, Kerala.
Ever since she joined the Indian School in first grade in April 2014, she has been an avid reader of books.
Currently she is reading ‘The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid.’ Rudra Rupesh Aiyer said: “This wonderful moment reminds me of my first ever Hindi poem “koshish karne waalon ki kabhi haar nahi hothi” by Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
As rightfully stated by the poet... there is no shortcut to success ..the only key to success is hard work... All credits go to my parents for their immense support and motivation right from my childhood which helped me to achieve this golden moment. How can I forget inspirational stories narrated by my parents? I also sincerely thank all my teachers, friends and well-wishers from the bottom of my heart.”
Rudra’s parents said: “It’s a happy and proud moment for us as our little angel Rudra has made her entry into the India Books of Records.
We thank all her teachers for all their support and guidance provided to her in achieving this milestone and last but not least, the Almighty who showered blessings to our daughter.”
Since 2006, the India Book of Records has been the custodian of Indian Records. ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the achievement of the student adding that the ISB is committed to bring out the best in children.
