The National Days festival, organised by the Ministry of Information, kicks off today at the Heritage Village in Ras Hayan.
The festivities commemorate the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783 and the anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne.
The festival will be open to the public from 5 pm to 11 pm and will continue until December 19. It will feature public functions and activities, including folkloric bands and the popular suq.
Many public establishments are part of this year’s festival, including the education, health and tourism ministries, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) and Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).
The Heritage Village at the festival has buildings and ur[1]ban models that reflect various phases in Bahrain’s history.
