Bahraini Farmers Market attracts over 10,000 visitors

The organizing committee of the Bahraini Farmers Market announced that 10,461 visited the market in its first week opening coinciding with its launch under the patronages of Municipalities’ Affairs and Agriculture Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, and in the presence of Tourism Minister, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sairafi, and in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD).
Participating in the tenth edition of the farmer market were 31 farmers, four agricultural companies, five nurseries, four apiaries, four activities specialized in dates, and 20 productive families, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development.
Assistant Undersecretary of Agriculture Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdulkarim said that the huge turnout in the first week of the launch reflects the momentum enjoyed by the farmers' market and its side events.
He added that the success of the first week makes it a responsibility on everyone to ensure further development, as the market reflects the civilized aspect of Bahrain and to support efforts aimed at advancing the agricultural sector.
