Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), has praised the legislative branch for helping Bahraini women achieve their well-deserved status and advanced position as active partners in the comprehensive development process.

She said the Parliament’s role is well known for its meticulous organisation, the relevance of its proposals, and the distinction of its outcomes, especially with regard to supporting the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, and the National Gender Balance Model.

The support has had clear effects on the laws and legislation, guaranteed the rights of the family and Bahraini women, and supporting their role in national affairs, she added. HRH Princess Sabeeka thanked Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh for his speech regarding women’s important role in Bahrain, during the opening of the first session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives councils opened by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HRH commended cooperation with the Shura and Representatives councils, and expressed the SCW readiness to welcome the aspirations of the Shura Council Chairman to sustain the success of Bahraini women, enhance their role in public life, and raise the level of their direct contributions to the economic development.
