Bahrain supports global efforts to protect environment

Bahrain is committed to fulfil its obligations to implement all signed regional and international environmental treaties and programmes.
This was affirmed by the Minister of Oil and Environment, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, as he participated in the coordination meeting of the ministers responsible for environmental affairs in the GCC countries.
He stressed the Kingdom’s continuation in developing policies and legislation that regulate environmental protection and preserve its resources. The meeting aims to unify positions at the high-level meeting of the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 15) They discussed the convention’s agenda, taking place this month in Montreal, Canada, under the theme “Ecological civilization: China’s effort to build a shared future for all life on Earth”.
The convention will touch upon the global framework for biodiversity, digital sequence information for genetic resources, protecting biodiversity, preserving its components, reducing climate change, and meeting the Kingdom’s and GCC countries’ aspirations.
