HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of Bahrain’s celebration of National Day, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State during the era of its founder, Ahmed Al Fateh, in 1783, as an Arab and Muslim country, as well as the Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.

The Cabinet also congratulated the people of Bahrain on this national occasion, commending the Kingdom's wide-ranging achievements under its comprehensive development, led by His Majesty the King.

To mark Commemoration Day, the Cabinet paid tribute to the Kingdom's fallen servicemen, who made selfless and noble sacrifices for the security of Bahrain and the safety of its citizens.

The Cabinet emphasised the importance of His Majesty the King's address to be given at the opening of the first session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, in laying the foundation for national efforts in the next phase of the Kingdom's progress and development.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Authorities, and building on the cohesion achieved for the benefit of the country and its citizens.

Following a review of a report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Cabinet also commended the speech delivered by His Majesty the King, at the opening session of the 43rd GCC Summit, which was held in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet also highlighted the outcomes of the Riyadh Gulf-China Summit for Cooperation and Development and the Riyadh Chinese-Arab Summit for Cooperation and Development, commending the efforts of Saudi Arabia led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in ensuring the success of the three summits.

On the occasion of the Bahraini Police Day, the Cabinet extended its thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Ministry of Interior for their role in safeguarding the Kingdom's security and achievements.

The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness, while the exceptional organisation of the event reflects the strong capabilities of the people of the Kingdom in staging world-class sports events.

The Cabinet commended the outstanding efforts made by the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in reaching more sporting achievements for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Cabinet noted the outcomes of the first Arab International Cybersecurity Summit (AICS) which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness, who delegated the National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, HH Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to inaugurate the summit on his behalf.

The Cabinet outlined the importance of the summit in reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to supporting efforts to combat cyber threats and developments.

The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting with the following outcomes:

The approval of the following memorandum:

1.    A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal & Legislative Affairs regarding an agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) on the GCC Telecom Bureau in the Kingdom.

2.    A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal & Legislative Affairs regarding the international cooperation agreement between the University of Bahrain and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in the field of particle physics.

3.    A memorandum by the Minister of Shura Council and Representative Council Affairs regarding several draft laws.

The Cabinet reviewed a joint memorandum by the Minister of Works and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture regarding preparations for seasonal rains.

The Cabinet reviewed a memorandum by the Minister of Tourism regarding the events and celebrations that will be held to commemorate the establishment of the modern Bahraini State during the era of its founder, Ahmed Al Fateh, as an Arab and Muslim state in 1783, as well as the Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.

The Cabinet also took note of the ministerial reports regarding the visit of the Minister of Works to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the outcomes of the Sixth International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, and the award ceremony of the third round of the King Salman Award for Disability Research.
