Terrorism in G20 Summit agenda

Global challenges like terrorism and refugee crisis as well as current global trade and energy issues will carry an important place in the agenda of the G20 Summit, informed the Turkish Embassy here yesterday.

According to a press release issued by the embassy, Turkey, as President of Group of Twenty (G20), will host the G20 Leaders Summit in Antalya from November 15 to 16.

G20, representing 85 per cent of the world’s economy, 75 per cent trade and 65 per cent population, is an important platform for collaboration at the global level, which seeks to enable strong, sustainable and balanced growth.

“For this purpose, the leaders will discuss in the Summit the ways of achieving inclusive growth with new growth, employment and investment strategies and how to increase resilience of the economies by realising financial and tax regulations, fighting corruption and reforming IMF,” the statement said.

Turkey assumed the 2015 G20 Presidency on December 1, 2014 and will hand it over to China at the end of this year.

During its presidency Turkey aimed to deliver inclusive and robust global growth through collective action with a view to lifting the potential of the global economy, it added.
