Distribution of housing units begins in East Sitra

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning yesterday announced starting of the distribution of housing units in East Sitra to beneficiaries.
The Daily Tribune had reported the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to distribute 6128 housing services to citizens.
Yesterday, confirming the commencement of the distribution of housing units, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said more units will be distributed to citizens within the coming months.
"We immediately prepared a distribution schedule soon after receiving directives of HRH Prince Salman," said the minister.
The ministry has also started communicating with citizens nominated to benefit from the distribution in East Sitra, the minister said, adding distribution here will continue until the middle of this week.
"The work team set up by the ministry is currently working to finalise the financing procedures for beneficiaries, as a large number of requests are currently processed," the minister added.
Confirming the Royal Patronage for the social housing sector, the minister also affirmed her determination to continue the successful housing projects in the Kingdom.
Muhammad Yaqoub Youssef, a beneficiary, said, “I still remember the day I applied for the housing unit, and it was on February 16, 2002.
“I am a resident of the Sitra region and extremely happy to receive a housing unit in the same region.” Farouk Ibrahim Hassan Abdullah, another citizen, said: “I am from Damistan, and it has passed almost 21 years since I made my request.”
“I was pleased that the Ministry of Housing contacted me to tell me I had obtained a housing unit.” “This has brought joy and pleasure to my heart and my family.”
Syed Youssef Jaafar Muhammad, yet another beneficiary, said, “It has been about 20 years since my request.
I currently live in the Saar area, and today the Ministry of Housing presented us with the happy news that we are entitled to a housing unit in the city of East Sitra.”
Abdul-Hussein Saeed Hassan said: “I am from the village of Al-Shakhoura, and made my request 20 years ago.
I have three children, and they are happy that we got the housing unit, especially since the city of East Sitra is a new and beautiful area.”
