They celebrated National Days on foot through Bahrain

National Days provides all of us - citizens and residents - an opportunity to rejoice and immerse in everything Bahrain.

But then we do it normally swimming with the tide! However, it emerges, there are some others who love to go that extra mile, take that extra effort to get fully immersed and experience a whole lot of Bahraini culture and heritage.

Bahraini Ahmed Abdul Rahman and Saeed Al Maamari of the United Arab Emirates are two such people.

They laced up their shoes and hit the ground to get closer to people and Kingdom as celebrations reached fever pitch across the Kingdom for National Days.

They went on an expedition around the Kingdom on foot, which they said provided them with an ultimate opportunity to soak in the surroundings.

They started their journey by walking to Durrat Al Bahrain, the third largest artificial island in Bahrain after Northern City and Diyar Al Muharraq Islands, covering a distance of 68 kilometres, extending their warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

“Our initiative aims to feel patriotism and create a beautiful atmosphere on National Days,” said Ahmed Abdulrahman Mohammed. “It was a 10-hour walk from Amwaj Islands to the heritage village, which included stops for prayer, food and a short rest,” Saeed Al Maamari said:” I am honoured to share the joy of our brothers in the Kingdom through the walking initiative.”

“Through our initiative, we like to communicate the love of the sons of Zayed to the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

“Our initiative also reflects the depth of the ties that unite the two countries at various levels and the care and attention this relationship enjoys from the leaders of the two Kingdoms.”

“We will stop our journey in Durrat Al Bahrain,” they said. He pedalled through Kingdom It was not long ago, the Daily Tribune reported, the story of 34-year-old Fayis Ashraf Ali, a hard-core adventurer, who reached Bahrain, on his bicycle, as part of his mission to travel around 35 countries in 450 days.

He started his journey from the south Indian state of Kerala and was biking his way to London when he stopped in the Kingdom.

During his stay in the Emirates, Khaleej Times, quoting him, said, “I am travelling alone as this is being done on a budget. I am staying with people I meet during my travels. I have not booked rooms in hotels or lodges.”

Speaking to the Daily Tribune while in Bahrain about his passion, he said, “I was an engineer in Saudi Arabia, but my father was ill, so I resigned and stayed at home and couldn’t find any job.

“I used to take care of my father. “After my father passed away in 2018, I started visiting my wife in Mangalore.

“ It w a s at this point that I discovered my passion for cycling. “Bahrain is presently the sixth country on my route. He believes cycling would strengthen one’s heart. He told Tribune: “I am cycling to raise awareness about heart, world peace, health care, zero carbon emission and zero drugs
