Health sector to get fillip

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the government had given the health and medical sector top priority through devising ambitious plans and executive programmes to develop the sector and upgrade the medical personnel.

“The required budgets to establish more hospitals and health centres and develop the existing ones have been allocated to ensure that the best therapeutic and preventive services and health care are provided according to the highest levels,” he said.

In a meeting with a number of senior state officials at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, he explained that the government’s plans to set up more health projects and upgrade health services were in line with its desire to provide the best medical services for the citizens across the kingdom’s regions and governorates on par with global standards.

HRH the Prime Minister was briefed by the President of the Supreme Council for Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa on a number of health projects, programmes and functions.

HRH Premier reiterated the government’s support to all projects aiming to upgrade the quality of treatment provided for the citizens and make a giant leap in this regard.

He also expressed support for health events and functions that enrich the experience of national competencies, which will reflect positively on the quality of services provided for the citizens.

During the meeting, HRH Premier voiced pride in the outstanding social and family bonds and interaction prevailing in Bahrain.

He commented: “Whenever domestic issues are tackled within the nation and without any foreign interference, they reflect positively on the Bahraini society. It strengthens the nation’s unity and fortify it against being dragged into division and fragmentation.”
