Bahrain keen to boost GCC anti-corruption cooperation

Bahrain is dedicated to reinforcing anti-corruption cooperation among law enforcement authorities in the Gulf region to build capacities and exchange expertise.

This was emphasised by Chief of Public security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, who headed the Bahrain delegation in the first ministerial meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in Riyadh.

Al Hassan highlighted the economic, social and security risks related to corruption. He highlighted the global challenges in promoting integrity and fighting corruption, stressing that obstacles could be overcome through dedicated work and supportive strategies to promote integrity frameworks.

Al Hassan said that the meeting would contribute to improving regional anti-corruption cooperation. Heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies in the GCC attended the meeting organised by the Saudi Oversight and Anti- Corruption Authority.
