The Social Development Ministry is committed to securing social protection for every member in society especially women by organising empowering programs and training courses to improve their production skills and live a good life.

This was emphasised by Social Development Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development Enas Al Majed who attended a forum entitled “Extending the Insurance Umbrella for Women Working in the Informal Sector.”

A Bahraini organisation, “Nahdhat Fatat”, organised the event. Al Majed reviewed the kingdom’s keenness to help the productive families through government’s initiatives as they have important role in Bahrain’s economy.

She praised the forum’s agenda that highlights the importance of empowering women in the productive line, noting that the percentage of women who obtain a productive home registration and are registered in Khutwa project for home projects of the ministry constitutes 75%, as the productive families project is a source of increasing families’ income.

The assistant undersecretary explained that the ministry had embraced productive families since 1987 and continued to do it by organising exhibitions and training courses. She reviewed Khutwa project’s advantages by obtaining a productive home registration, benefiting from the services of productive families’ centers, showrooms and marketing halls, in addition to other advantages.
