Bahrain will be adversely affected by a depression hovering over the Arabian peninsula, with its impacts to start visible here from dawn today, warns the latest met report.

The report says that weather will become cloudy with chances of sporadic rain at times during the day.

The Meteorological Department report also expects some rain on Wednesday, with clouds to start moving eastward in the afternoon.

“So, the Kingdom will prevail in a 'state of calm' during the next two days.” The report adds the Arabian Peninsula and the Arabian Gulf region will witness a state of instability in the coming days.

“It is likely that several depressions will pass at intermittent intervals from this week until the beginning of the New Year.”

The met report predicts a similar situation from New Year’s Eve until the second Sunday of January 2023, where there are "opportunities for sporadic rain.” Winds are northwesterly and will remain moderate to brisk on most days of the week and may, at times, reach strong during Wednesday and Thursday, accompanied by a cold air mass.

“This will lead to a noticeable decrease in temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.” The Meteorological Department warns that the weather may not be suitable for marine activities during the days of strong northern winds, as the wave is likely to reach six feet in the open sea. It called on the public, especially sea-goers, to exercise caution and take all safety measures.
