The General Directorate of Civil Defense Department has implemented a number of educational and training programmes on cleaning and sterilizing public and private institutions’ facilities as part of an action plan that targets all facets of society.
Participants include all societal groups, government agencies, and the private sector. A team with expertise in dealing with training and educating people about hazardous and supporting materials conducted the events.
According to the General Directorate of Civil Defense’s Director General, this was done in response to the Interior Minister’s directives and the Chief of Public Security’s follow-up. This is part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing national team efforts to combat the Covid-19.
The General Directorate worked to carry out its plan to combat the virus by taking preventative measures, working to spread the ideas of disinfection and sterilisation through the distribution of various educational and information leaflets, in addition to introducing the processes of disinfection and self-sterilisation of homes and various work sites and related safety matters in cooperation.
The Supreme Council for the Environment, the Department of Public Health, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense have all confirmed that the department will train staff from all specialised companies on cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising operations for the buildings of government and private institutions, as well as the correct procedures for carrying out various disinfection and sterilisation operations.
