Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) new customer services and billing system will be launched in early February. This was announced by EWA President Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
The new system is part of EWA’s comprehensive development strategy, and is focused on advancing digital transformation in the authority to enhance the quality of services provided to customers.
Kamal said that the new system is comprehensive and capitalises on the latest technologies used in securing optimum service delivery. Turning to the advantages of the new system, he explained that facilitation of electricity and water services will be more efficient, and that the format of bills, and the information they display will be clearer.
Billing operations will also undergo further optimisation to ensure increased transparency and accuracy. To ensure a successful launch, Kamal said that more than 1,000 employees at the authority and relevant entities have undergone intensive training programmes on the new system.
Additionally, all the necessary logistical requirements have been secured to ensure an efficient transfer of operations under set standards. EWA worked closely with a number of stakeholders, including banks and government entities, to guarantee a smooth and seamless launch of the new system.
The launch of the new system follows a series of development projects undertaken by the authority with the aim of providing an integrated, modern, and smart system. This include developing electricity and water transportation and distribution infrastructure, initiating the digital metres’ installation project, and working on a project to establish a new control centre for electricity and water networks.
