Bahrain Cabinet discuss steps to immediately start implementing 2023-2026 Government Program

It’s all systems go for the immediate implementation of the priorities, policies and initiatives outlined in the 2023- 2026 Government Program.
The initiative, titled “From Economic Recovery to Sustainable Growth,” is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During its weekly meeting, chaired yesterday by the Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace, the Cabinet discussed the steps to immediately start implementing the Government Program.
This will be carried out through the development of government projects and services provided to citizens, ongoing tracking of related work plans, and submission of periodic progress reports to the Cabinet.
The Cabinet commended the Council of Representatives’ unanimous approval of the 2023-2026 Government Program, affirming that close cooperation with the Council of Representatives contributed to achieving consensus.
It noted the commitment of t h e parliamentary committee in charge of studying the Government Program, in cooperation with the Government Committee, and supporting ongoing coordination between the Executive and Legislative Authorities, for the benefit of the country and its citizens.
The Cabinet extended its gratitude to the Government Committee for their participation in the meetings, and for their efforts in this regard.
NAO Report
The Cabinet directed the concerned government agencies to follow up on the observations and recommendations included in the 2021-2022 National Audit Office (NAO) Report, and to take the necessary measures to rectify them.
It extended its gratitude to all the ministries and government agencies that took the initiative to rectify the observations in the previous report, and noted the role played by the NAO in strengthening governance to incorporate effective practices.
The Cabinet highlighted Bahrain International Airport’s success in attaining the 5-star Regional Airport Rating certification for outstanding airport services and facilities by Skytrax, for the second year in a row. The Cabinet stressed the importance of continuing to develop airport services and sustain national achievements and developments.
Improving government performance and efficiency
The Cabinet yesterday approved a memorandum by the Civil Service Bureau regarding the restructuring of a number of ministries and government agencies to improve performance and efficiency.
The Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the regulatory framework for the inter-registration of financial products among the regulators of financial markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
It also reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning regarding developments in the Ministry’s housing priorities and developing partnerships with the private sector in housing projects and programmes, as well as adopting numerous initiatives to facilitate and diversify housing services provided to citizens.
In addition, the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Tourism regarding the Kingdom’s tourism indicators for the period between December 2022 to January 2023, during which many events took place across commercial complexes and hotels.
The Cabinet then took note of the ministerial reports regarding the visit of the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs to the United Arab Emirates, and the participation of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the Conference and Exhibition for Hajj and Umrah Services (Hajj Expo 2023).
