Bahrain, UAE discuss bilateral relations, labour cooperation

Bahrain and the UAE have stressed the importance of exchanging information and strengthening bilateral cooperation in labour fields, as well as developing and qualifying human resources for the benefit of citizens in the two countries.

This came as Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan led a delegation to the UAE, comprising Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) CEO Noof Abdulrahman Jamsheer, and a number of Labour Ministry’s official.

Humaidan, who is also Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Board of Directors Chairman, highlighted the initiatives implemented by the Kingdom to accelerate the pace of employment and rehabilitation of citizens and their integration into the private sector through incentives.

It has made Bahrainis the priority in employment, he noted. The Minister spoke about the mechanisms for implementing unemployment insurance, calling for more cooperation and coordination of stances between the two brotherly countries at various regional, Arab and international events and conferences.

The visit aims to activate the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two brotherly countries in the field of manpower and human resources. Humaidan held a meeting with the UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Mannan Al Awar, in the presence of senior Emirati officials. During the meeting, the two countries’ policies to develop the labour market and human resources were highlighted.
