Sustaining the development of IT government services at the Interior Ministry is among its priorities. This was emphasised by Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, as he chaired yesterday the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.
General Shaikh Rashid said that it is part of the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in line with the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
After approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the committee reviewed topics on the agenda, including the digital transformation accomplishments of the Information and e-Government Authority in 2022.
The authority had made remarkable outcomes due to the ongoing follow-up of the Cabinet, led by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The panel reviewed a report showcasing the positive digital transformation outcomes by providing 600 e-services through all channels, including 50 services developed in 2022.
A total of 3.7 million e-applications were processed last year as part of efforts to provide comprehensive and high-quality e-services. The Interior Minister hailed the cooperation between the authority and all ministries and the government bodies reflected in the developed government services, procedures and transactions.
