The Knights of Rizal, Kingdom of Bahrain Chapter, has recently announced that nominations are now open for the Bayanihan Award for Humanitarian Services.

According to Ahbet Quinto, Events Program Director, the Knights of Rizal, Kingdom of Bahrain Chapter, has created this bi-annual award as an awarding body to provide credence to and recognise corporate entities, individuals, and group organisation for their unselfish deeds to humanity regardless of creed and of colour.

The objective is to bestow recognition to outstanding individuals, groups of individuals, non-governmental organisations, or sectarian entities which have unselfishly excelled in the provision of humanitarian services to the community and to the host country as a whole.

This was evident during the global pre and post-pandemic experience where nongovernmental organisations, corporate entities, church institutions, and groups of individuals spared no time and with high spirit and dedication to saving the desperate individuals and healthcare frontliners as well.

“Bayanihan” refers to a spirit of communal unity and cooperation, culture and tradition in the Philippines, believing that helping others or the community or the nation is what they ought to do.
