A charity walk held yesterday at Al Estiqlal Jogging Park raised BD850, which officials said will go towards helping the Friendship Society for The Blind.

Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Dana Zubari, a social media icon and co-founder of Tru Active Sportswear, said: “The money raised from this charity walk will help create a better space for The Friendship Society for The Blind.

For example, adding textured walls for them to touch and feel.” “Different materials with varied textures improve the recognition of tactile images by young blind people.

“I am honoured to work with Ayadi Relief in raising funds and awareness for The Friendship Society for The Blind,” Zubari added.

“The walk went very well, but we failed to reach our target; however, the money we raised is still a tremendous help, and we are grateful for the support from the community.

“We are excited for this money to be used to create a better space for society.
