Indian Embassy hosts Republic Day dinner reception

The Embassy of India in Bahrain organised a dinner reception to celebrate the 74th Republic Day of India. Indian Ambassador Piyush Sreevasthava and his wife, Monica Srivastava, hosted the dinner, which was held at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s Bahrain Conference Centre.
Foreign Minister HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani was the Chief Guest for the event. The event was also graced by HE Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, HE Mr Abdul Nabi Salman, HE Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, HE Sameer Abdulla Ahmed Nass, HE Ali Abdulhussein Al Asfoor, and HE Ambassador Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Gaoud.
Present were more than 400 dignitaries including Members of Parliament, Senior Officers and Heads of Authorities of the Government of Bahrain, Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Members of Diplomatic Corps and Indian and Bahraini businessmen and community.
Cultural events for the celebrations included Kathak and Kuchipudi dances along with the performance by the Ministry of Interior, Bahrain band. A Defence Corner was set up to showcase India’s advances in defence sector. The dinner reception included a Millet counter to mark International Year of Millets and a Goa corner showcasing the touristic and culinary specialties.
